This deliciously dry Pinot Gris displays fragrant aromas of nashi pear, nectarine, melon, nougat, lychee and apple blossom. The palate has a crisp entry with ripe juicy pear, peach, pineapple and red apple. This wine is balanced and complex with a refreshing and lingering passionfruit and sweet melon finish.
The Japanese word 'Kirameki' signifies the rocks that shimmer alongside the one hectare of sloping Pinot Gris vines at the Northern tip of our vineyard.
It's stylish and elegantly fragrant on the nose showing apricot, rockmelon, poached pear and subtle spice aromas, leading to a succulent palate that's fleshy and lingering. Smooth, refreshing and flavoursome with a splendid juicy finish. Wine Orbit 2021 (5 Stars)
Aromas of ripe pear and white fleshed nectarine, yellow apple and a fine lees autolysis and mineral layers. Vibrant and expressive on the palate with flavours of tree and white fleshed stone fruits, a touch of tropical and citrus. Honeysuckle and white flowers add to the complexity and overall charm. A delicious wine ready to drink from day of purchase and through 2025. Cameron Douglas MS 2021 (94 Points)

The strong stone fruit and spicy character allows this wine to match to a wide variety of international foods. Our picks would be moderately spiced Asian food, seafood, and chicken.
The fruit for this 'Kirameki' Pinot Gris was hand-harvested on 26 April 2020 (23.7 brix) from one hectare of sloping pinot gris vines at the northern tip of our vineyard that sit alongside the shimmering rocks, known as 'Kirameki' in Japanese.
The fruit was destemmed and crushed, then whole bunch pressed to tank for cold settling for two days. The juice was then racked and inoculated with selected wine yeasts and fermented in a stainless steel tankto retain the varietal and fruit characteristics. The fermentation was stopped retaining 7.7 grams/Litre of residual sugar to enhance palate weight but also to balance acidity.
