Our Bald Hills 'Friends and Lovers' Central Otago Rosé is a wine for all occasions.
With aromas of raspberry, jasmine, rose petal and a palate rich with berry fruit and cherries, this is a deliciously dry style Rosé. The supple fruit sweetness and balanced acidity give this wine a delightful finish.
Enjoy as an aperitif or as the perfect accompaniment to grilled chicken, fish or lamb with herbs.
"Youthful, ripe and very alluring scents of light red cherry and strawberry, roses and red apple, peach tea and a touch of red quince. On the palate - delicious! Everything a Rosé wine should be with a juicy fleshy texture, ripe light red fruit flavours plus something that makes it special - such as the peach tea and quince mentioned above, a great acid-line and finish that demands you take another sip."Cameron Douglas MS

The fruit selected for this Rosé is 100% hand-harvested Pinot Noir (clones Abel and 115). Harvest took place on 12 April2019. The fruit was whole bunch pressed to a stainless steel tank for cold settling for two days. The juice was then racked and the juice inoculated with selected wine yeast. The cool fermentation was stopped to retain a touch of residual sugar.
Pink with apricot hues. Fragrant with raspberry, strawberry, rose petal, crab apple, melon, peach and a hint of aniseed. Plush entry of apricots, nectarines and peach. Supple and silky on the mid-palate with good fruit sweetness and a pleasing acidity. The finish is long with ripe phenolics and showing good minerality.
Varietal: 100% Pinot Noir
Residual Sugar: 5.0g/L
Standard Drinks: 8 (750ml bottle)
Hand picked on 12 April 2019
Hand harvesting grapes is no mean feat in the world’s southernmost wine region where harvest often happens icy autumn mornings and requires significant labour.
